Are You That “Ride or Die” Friend or Partner?

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

Let’s not think about this in a negative, harmful or illegal way. Sit back and think about that one person you KNOW that’ll ride out any situation or would die trying. Possibly you may have more than one, but who would you call first? We’re not talking about an associate that you occasionally grab coffee/tea with. We’re not talking shopping friends, teammates or even colleagues. We’re talking late night and/or early morning phone calls, mental breakdowns, hospital visits, wiping tears through emotional pain, walking hand in hand into a funeral. We’re talking about the person that becomes you emotionally when you’re an emotional wreck. They‘re willing to ride any wave with you. They don’t look at your flaws or the mistakes you have made. Past arguments are null and void, conversations are deeper than you can imagine, laughter until your cheeks and stomach hurt, loyalty and forgiveness at its best.

I’d give my last for my ride or die friends or partner. We’ve fought (not physically), we’ve loved, we’ve lost and we’ve mourned together – and yet, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Stand by your partner’s side through all of life’s adventures, challenges, and downfalls. Consider it your job to get them out of a funk, disappointments, hurt (even if you might be the cause). Help calm their fears, be the listening ear, talk through things, be a reminder of every instance that proves all of those fears are unfounded, and defend your partner if anyone tries to bad mouth them, even if it’s true. Be the backbone, remain consistent- there should be no room to doubt loyalty. Remember, if you’re happy it’s never a waste of time. So go on and ride that wave or least die trying. Stay Safe ❤️
