Choose Those Who Choose You!

Updated: Nov 16, 2020

Sit back and think about the people that’s been a part of your life. Ask yourself why they’re no longer in your life. Then ask yourself why keep the people that’s currently in your life. Does the energy match? Are they consistent? Do you feel you’re giving more than they are? Sometimes we may feel obligated to people based on what they’ve done for us in the past. You cannot grow if your mentality is stuck on past behaviors/situations. Fear will have you missing blessings and opportunities—all because you fear of choosing those who are choosing you. However, we can make ourselves miserable simply because we keep choosing people who won’t pick us in return. A relationship of any kind is a two-way street—friends and family.

There‘s so much more to life than providing or receiving materialistic items. Sure we love nice things, but is that your happiness? Life is short, so spend your time wisely. At the very least, hopefully, whoever you spend time with usually brightens your day instead of making it worse. It’s cool to feel exhausted after seeing someone from having so much fun or accomplishing something productive, but you shouldn’t feel drained from their negativity or overextending yourself. Think about it, do they initiate hanging out with you or is it you always wanting to hang out? Do you feel obligated... do they? Learn to commit to yourself first. You’ll continue to struggle to commit to others when you haven’t meet your own needs and wants. People will only connect to your soul if they feel that positive vibe or that sense of security. If you honestly know who you are, choose someone that you can grow with emotionally, mentally, financially and spiritually. Someone who you can laugh and cry with. Someone who can appreciate your scars. Someone who isn’t afraid of being loved. Someone to make memories with, then later reminisce. Someone that will catch you if you fall. Someone who is consistent, and not necessarily convenient. Someone who brings you peace—the quiet to your storm. Choose someone who is willing to choose you for you. This goes for your besties, significant other and family!
