Settling

Many may believe settling is opting out for something less than what you desire or deserve. Hmmm, not in all cases. Let’s think about it in a positive way. Sometimes the things we desire or think we deserve aren’t the things we need to grow. We tend to make choices thinking it’s the right choice due to whatever circumstances; when actually all we needed to do is settle our minds. When your mind is settled, you can make better choices. When your mind is settled you’ll have clarity of who and what means the most. When your mind is settled, you’re grateful for the things you have and loyal to those you can share them with. Settling can bring you peace. That type of peace to make you proud of the person you‘ve become, the love you gave despite of being hurt and the way you healed. Of course we’re all going to have life’s struggles—the ups and downs. But at the end of the day, you survived! You didn’t take a backseat to the pain, your flaws or any hardship that came your way. Everything isn’t meant to be convenient or comfortable. There’s no coincidences, although we may think there are. Everything we experienced was meant to happen exactly how it happened. We just have to embrace the lesson and be grateful. We have to start looking at the kinder parts of our souls. Who knows, maybe some of those desires may come your way. Don’t allow anything or anyone take you to a level you’ve already risen from—protect your growth. Protect your privacy—some may not be happy for you because they’re not happy with themselves. Choose your path wisely—allow your journey to be yours. Don’t allow anyone to talk you out of something you trust that’s good for you. Walk through life at your pace— what’s the rush? Just enjoy the stroll.
On any given day, I will settle for my peace, my privacy, my path and my pace.
If you knew how hard it was and how long it took me to rebuild my little universe of peace and happiness, then you would understand why I’m so picky about who I allow in my life. —Unknown
