The Silver Lining

Everything happens for a reason. We may never know or understand the reason, but we must embrace what’s happening. Not all feelings will be enjoyable. Some will be uncomfortable or unpleasant, however just don’t allow them to stand in your way; especially in circumstances beyond your control. Mistakes will be made, but we cannot keep making the same mistake. If so, it’s not longer a mistake it’s a decision. We‘re given one life, find the good in every obstacle. Please know you’re allowed to change your mind. Your path may no longer be mine or vice versa. Sometimes life leads us to that fork in the road. At every fork in the road you make a choice that can shape your life. You’re allowed to chase your dreams. You’re allowed to be alone. You’re allowed to unlearn who you’ve been if it isn’t who you are anymore. Or you can stay in it but understand this is not how you will grow. You’re allowed to love whoever you want despite what people say or think. You’re allowed to let go of people without any explanations or regrets. You’re allowed to break up or get a divorce—no need of staying somewhere you’re not valued and appreciated. You’re allowed to start over. Sometimes we have to meet people where they are or leave them where they are, with no love loss. You can’t force people to understand what they haven’t learned for themselves. Maybe we need to see the world from a different lens, in a different place (physically or mentally) or a humble ground. Maybe this is the year you needed to learn more of giving back to yourself than others. You’re allowed to be selfish (just a little). So maybe the obstacles, disappointments, anger or hurt aren’t the enemy. Maybe it’s an opportunity to accept and redefine who you are. There’s always a silver lining.
