Unmask Yourself

The spiritual meaning of the color white is associated with purity, safety, illumination, understanding, cleanliness, faith, beginnings, possibility, humility, sincerity, protection, and perfection. Yesterday I saw a white deer nearly in my backyard, not knowing they even exist. No one is around to see what I see. Would anyone believe me if I told them? A little less than an hour, unexpectedly, I was able to share this rare siting with someone who appreciated the moment as much (or more) as I did. Like really, what were the chances the deer would still be there? What does this all mean? They say the siting of a rare white animal is a sign of phophecy and a sense of renewal. To me, life is about creating, accepting, and enjoying moments like this. They’re meant to be, so just let it be, it belongs to us. We tend to downplay or deny who we are and what we mean to each other to satisfy a hope that’s hopeless. The challenge is trying to figure out what you need/what before trying to give someone else what they need or want. We’re entitled to live our lives open and honest, no hidden agendas. At this point in life, why cheat yourself? Or anyone else for that matter? You’ll never know what will work for you unless you give it a chance. You know, sometimes you have to leave your community to grow and reach your full potential. Focus on that word “community”. It’s deeper than you realize. Be real with yourself. These days it may not be the most popular thing to do because that “ego“ is afraid of conflict. That ego is afraid to face its own facade, mask and reality. That ego fears change and being exposed. Everyone is not who they perceive to be. Take some time to yourself and look deep inside of your community.

Truth: I have a small circle of friends. All of my friends are more than just my “friend“. The bond that’s created resonate from the soul. What I need in friendship and/or partner is simplicity. I need to know how big your faith is, your commitment to it and the willingness to share it with me. I need small moments between us that only us can appreciate the laughter. I need openness and honesty- things about you and things about me. I need protection so I can let my guard down and trust that I’ll be ok. I need late night pillow talks/phone calls to unravel my daily thoughts. I need a person I can grow with, not outgrow. I need consistency- don’t introduce me to a vibe you’re not willing to maintain.

Remember, pretty faces are everywhere, but connecting souls are rare- just like the white deer in the backyard.
